Here we have a group of young volunteers taking turns at gathering dirt to fill holes on the horse-riding trails.
Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Orr Farm Rescue & Sanctuary is recruiting for a minimum of 6-hour per week commitment.
We usually do farm chores Mon.- Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. CST Sat. 8:00 a.m. - 11 a.m. and Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST You are welcome to come help anytime within these hours on Weekdays or Weekends, and we usually work with the horses and/or host public trail rides on Sundays where guests can bring their own horses and ride our trails and volunteers/interns can ride our horses if they volunteer at least 6-9 hours per week.
We are in need of support with adoptions, fundraising, grant writing, helping at events, facility maintenance, trail clearing and maintenance, dog grooming, dog walking, cat care, horse care, farm animal care and more.
We currently have 5 rescue horses, 16 rescue dogs, 1 rescue cat, 2 rescue cows, 5 rescue goats, 11 rescue chickens, 3 rescue ducks and 2 rescue calves and plan to help and house many more animals in the future at our educational rescue farm and wildlife sanctuary.

Volunteer Highlights
Auburn University Pre-Vet Club
The AU Pre-Vet Club volunteers are a wonderful group of young college students who come together to help us with bottle feeding rescued calves, grooming the horses and dogs, deworming animals, and many other things to give them farm and domesticated animal hands-on experience before they enter the veterinary world.

Katie has been volunteering with us for a year now and has been a big help at the rescue. She has helped feed, water, exercise, and care for the animals and clear/maintain trails. She will also come help us with anything we need anytime. Thank you, Katie!

Mike and Nicole have been volunteering with us for over a year now. They have helped us with the care of the animals, helped with fundraisers, and have been positive rays of light at our rescue.
